Sheila Sobell is an award-winning health and travel journalist and the author of three consumer health books. For the last several years, she has reported monthly on breaking research in the treatment of cancer, women’s health and fitness. Her three books include The Smart Guide to Sports Medicine; Slim & Fit Kids: How to Raise Healthy Children in a Fast Food Environment written with Judy Mazel, the best-selling author of The Beverly Hills Diet and John Monanco, MD, a critical care pediatrician. With Dr. Allan E. Sosin, she wrote The Doctor’s Guide to Diabetes & Your Child: New Therapies for Type 1 and Type 2.
 
Ms. Sobell’s health journalism has appeared in publications like Woman’s Day, Parade, American Way, Modern Maturity, USA Weekend, Playgirl, and CompleteWoman, where she was a contributing editor.
 
An accomplished business writer, she wrote and edited Managing Partner, a monthly newsletter on the business of practicing law.
 
A member of the prestigious Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), Ms. Sobell has covered Europe, Canada and the U.S. with her husband and partner, Richard N. Every, a photographer. Photographer and travel writer Richard N. Every is a member of the North American Travel Journalist Association (NATJA). With his wife/ partner Sheila Sobell, he has covered destinations both abroad and domestically. A qualified British sea captain, he successfully sailed the couple's catamaran over 3500 miles of sea from Turkey to England as they pursued a wide variety of ports and prose. Formerly CFO of Monsanto and CEO of Viritech, the first medical manufacturing plant in England, Richard has chased up stories by air, sea, rail and motorbike.
